House power surge tripped the GFI and shutdown the filters shortly after feeding these gulpers. They puked up the market shrimp, 120g tank crashed only survivor was a black giant gouramy in the span of 24-36 hours prolly. Walked into the house funny smell, go to the fish room 187g fine turn to see the 120g lights off, cloudy white water, and floating fish.

They were 9-12 inches had the smaller ones since for about 1 year got them at 4-5inches. This was also about 2 months after losing two new 4-5 inch gulpers same puke ammonia spike scenario smaller growout tank that couldnt handle it gulpers died ghost glass cats lived. Also lost one when I first got them come home from new years a couple days later and find a floating bloated fish in the tank at least it didnt crash though.

$300 burn gonna keep me away from gulpers for awhile.

They're bloated from decomp not just feeding.

My dead BRPs. . . :(

The larger orange one is the only one left. First 3 fish I ever owned! Had them for about 3-4 years from just a few inches long. Two cubes of brine got caught in the filter intake that I unfortunately didn't realize until it was too late, which caused terrible water parameters quickly.

gulpers are really ugly! but cool fish

My turn... I have 8 giant danios, well had. Now i have 7. Danios are notorious for their mad jumping skills, but they also are known (at least to me) for getting into weird places. I have had it happen 5 times where the danios jump into the filter and into where the filter is pumped into the media, i fixed that. Than they started jumping, that's where i lost two of them, than the last one went really far. I just got a new glass canopy to accomadate my new t5 fixture, so there is a small slit between the glass and light. Not knowing about this until today, i saw the reflection of a danio just sitting on it's side, So i bend down to look up to see if their is a sickly fish but see nothing. So i immediately assumed he was under the light. I lifted the light and low and behold, there was a dried, fried and dead danio sitting there. So it's not a huge loss, but the only one i have documented. I am proud to say i haven't lost ANY fish to a disease, only to suicide.

The thing about losing fish is that if you keep monster fish, fish are bound to get eaten. I had a 24 in RTC x TSN cross and came home from work one day and the catfish had 4 inches of a 16 inch Black Arrow hanging out of his mouth. everyone, I feel your pain!
