Awsome fishes and trips WES!!!!

I think you are right .The one in your pic does have shorter spines, and the ones here are longspine. As i remember they get about 24 inches here . I once had a big one bite my thumb on the first knuckle. I thought I was going to lose my thumb tip , but he just crushed the hell out of my thumb. I was tired ,emptying lobster traps ,and i reached in a trap and stuck my thumb right in his mouth. Sometimes you have to handle alot of them. They get in a lobster trap and eat alot of lobsters :( I have seen them playing and chasing each other in the ocean also. They are very inquisitive, and cool fish.

yes, they are so intelligent. and cannot resist crabs and lobsters. the first day I saw them, I had no bait, so I had to go around and catch a bait crab, and tossed it at them. most of the times the splash spooked them, but once they see the crab action, they always turn around. I fed them 2-3 crabs until I got one in the corner of the mouth. People actually eat these in Taiwan, and they're not poisonous like some of the takifugu sp. but I wasn't about to try it, lol

I am originally from Hawaii, and lived there for a long time. I never knew there were puffs in there, I usually see people pulling up ugly looking crabs. I wouldn't eat anything caught in the Ala Wai its so polluted in there, some dude fell in a few years ago and got a flesh eating virus and died.
