It’s because it’s sucking in air to produce the bubbles, if I turn it down it goes quiet. But yeah I should’ve done that for the video now that I think about it lol
Kratos has given me a bit of a scare over the last couple days. Two days ago he stopped eating pellets and I thought something was up with him. What really left me confused is that he hasn’t been acting weird at all, other than somehow taking it up another notch in aggression. He’s been digging as usual, always incredibly active, front and center to greet me when I’m near, begging for food etc. No hard breathing, no sulking, no clamped fins and no injuries other than a tooth being knocked out from going after the glass cleaner magnet.
That is, until this morning I tried the freeze dried krill and the bug bites (that I feed around 3x a week) and he ate them up instantly. So perhaps I’ve spoiled him a bit and the little a-hole wants to be picky, he’ll be fasted for 3 days now and I’ll only feed the krill and bug bites once a week from now on. Anyway, here’s another vid of him taken around a week ago.
The big guy is back to eating pellets now, couldn’t even last 2 days I’ve started giving him treats less frequently now. I’ve noticed that over the last week he seems to have gotten a small growth spurt. His forehead profile seems slightly steeper, he’s gotten thicker and maybe half an inch longer. His growth has slowed since he hit 8 inch but that’s to be expected since he’s nearing maturity.
What confirmed my suspicions is when my aunt (who absolutely adores him) came over yesterday evening and was shocked at his size and said “oh he’s definitely grown!”. The last time she saw him was 2 weeks before that. Sometimes when you see a fish everyday it’s hard to really notice subtle differences in growth. Anyway here’s a couple photos from today, lighting isn’t the best because it’s been a rainy morning.
