That's my RDxLyonsi in the first pic, they look very similar. Yours seems to have alot more blue and mine has more red. Maybe its the RD blood in them
yours is just a juvie amphilophus though, you have no idea what hes going to look like when hes older. All amphilophus juvies look the same when younger ime. Heres my remaining lyonsi.

Man I wish I could find lyonsi out here. One of these days I am just going to have to bite the bullet and buy them from rapps.

Ya pealing at 7" is odd but then again he is a hybrid so throw the rule book out the window. When you get a chance can you take some shots of the gills if possible. Looking like whatever is coming though is going to be magnificent.

I grew out 4 lyonsi from 2-6" in a few months and then one of the males killed one, beat the other one up badly (which ended up dying) and then I was left with the one I have now and the killer. I threw the mean one in with 5 midas and they killed him over night. I still feel bad about it but I figured he'd be alright since he was amphilophus and around the same size. Especially since I've seen red devil X lyonsi hybrids. Now I'm left with one but I have easy access to more.

rapps is too expensive, go with the guy I got mine from http://www.aquabid.com/cgi-bin/auction/auction.cgi?fwcichlidc&1219803628

his stock is low right now but he will have more stuff by the end of September.

I'll try to get some pics of the gills next time I feel like taking pictures.
