Thinking about an outdoor lizard habitat

That might be the way to go, dig down and put a concrete floor in. I've seen tortoise runs done that way.

BTW varanio, nice argus...love the shot with it tripod-ing.

When I breed Basilicus plumifrons I tried my best to keep them outdoors in the summer as much as possible, weather permitting of course. They had a pretty large 8x4x6 cage that held 1 male and 2 females.

What's funny about this species is that if you want a really green one, you need to give it as much natural sunlight as possible. If kept indoors all their lives, they turn a sort of turquoise color. Some people like them to be green, others like the turqoise color. Mine were sort of inbetween.

^ I've heard that...and I remember reading somewhere that people thought the different color was because they were captive-bred. Personally I like the nice bright green ones. Hmm I wonder if I could do basilisks? I doubt it...I need to find a list of invasive species down here and go from there. Lots of species in south Florida but most don't get as far north as me (unless I wanted a giant brown anole farm hehe).

Do a giant Green Anole farm... you guys need to get more of those guys running around on the ground; not hiding in the treetops.

Easier said than done the brown and sailfin anole are far more aggressive and get larger. They push the greenies to more remote areas.

Yeah I know, I read a herpertologist addressed the issue, and he basically said there is no decrease in their population; however their population is located in the treeline out of people's view, while all the other anole species are running around in the lower levels.

Very true. I've been down here a year now and I've seen exactly 1 green anole. I see A. sagrei every day, often breeding on the fire hydrants. Ditto the treefrogs...haven't spied a greenie yet but I'm knee-deep in Cuban trees.
