is there a website that shows how to build the tank's exterior and shows how many 2x4's you need along the outside of the tank.
I used 2 by 8 studs on one-foot centers for the 6-foot tall aquarium. I plan to write something for the article section soon.

Magnificent aquarium!! Did you build this on top of a concrete pad?

I did not build the aquarium on a concrete pad. The ground is hardpan with concrete rubble and pea gravel above. A pad would have been better and easier during construction however, I was trying to hold constructions costs under $1.00 a gallon and succeeded. The 8,000-gallon aquarium was filled with water on May 10 2007 and is holding up very well.

Please do, I am really flirting with the idea of building an 8000gal or 10000gal tank(outdoor) in my home in El Salvador. Tropical weather all year will make it easy to have outside. Best thing is you don't have to use lighting fixtures to light it up:naughty:

My 8000-gallon outdoor plywood aquarium tank is nearly finished. The polyester resin coating with fiberglass over the seams was a 12-hour non-stop effort. The two 4’ by 8’ by 1-1/2” thick 300 pound cell cast Acrylic windows go in tomorrow if all the crew shows up.

I don't recall you mentioning what type of resin you used or where you got it. Can you elaborate a little more on the sealing of the inside of the tank? Thanks

hey anything I ve been a fan for a while ROCKY DA REDTAIL on youtube and yes my dream would be one like the 2400 but lets make it a solid 2500 and i would love for it to be in wall built in my home with all my reds rays and pacu maybe some pbass azul ! Deff interested in the article

The interior coating of the plywood in the 8000 gallon aquarium is polyester resin purchased from TAP Plastics. http://www.tapplastics.com/

The 600 square feet of interior surface area required about 15 gallons of resin in a single coating. A second coating would have been advisable however the tank is holding up well.

I want to see the Article. Very interested.

At the moment i'm trying to construct 2 Tables.

1 that would hold 3 90G tanks
1 That would hold 3 55G tanks.

This would come in handy.
