I can honestly say that there are no words to describe your passion and work put into this tank. Everything is above and beyond what I have ever seen. Simply amazing sir.
Thanks man, really appreciate it!

turned out amazing. I've been thinking up a water changing sytem, simular to what you are moving twoards. I plan to do it on the next build.

Have a line from the sump, probaly drilled low, run to a sewer line or some where gravity fed. Use a sprinkler valve to hold the water back. Based on a controller turn off pump and open valve. Then close the valve and have a top of controller with a high and low float switch refill the sump.
Thanks, sounds like a neat setup. So many ways to set up water changers aside from the constant drip. I went with this setup because I couldn't use gravity to drain the tank anywhere, since it's right in the middle of a living room

Hey bro,
I love everything about this build, but gotta say I disagree with this^^.
IMO: I own 5 Designs By Nature backgrounds, and have seen every aqua terra background in person at my old job, and DBN is hands down the better product, with far more selection in designs. If you see them side by side in person, I think you would agree.
Other than that, everything about this tank is next level and the build is immaculate. Love how you did the overflow, and the wood looks great.

Where are you getting your discus? I believe I predicted a few months ago you would build another big tank for some primo wild caught when you first got discus in your rimless tank. ;)
Thanks! I have seen the DBN backgrounds. Can't say that I'm a fan. They patterns are great, but the color doesn't do it for me. They look too artificial, don't know what it is. For me AT is the winner :)

Haha you did predict that?? I've been getting my wilds from Snookn/John

Incredible looking tank Jose.
Excellent write up on it as well. Where did you get the wood that you used?
Thanks James. The wood was collected locally, about 1.5hr away from where I live

To top it off, you put everything in a well written, nicely organized new thread. I don't even have the words to describe how impressed I am by this build.
Thanks, glad you found it useful

Looks awful! Personally, I'd break that thing down, load it up in a truck, drive it to Baltimore and set it up at my house. I'll take that atrocity off your hands, so you an start again!:grinno:

Haha, in all seriousness, it looks amazing! very clean and beautiful execution. I love that all the crazy mods and such done behind the tank aren't visible and you'd have no idea about it from looking at the front. Keep doin' what you do!:headbang2
Thanks man, appreciate. It is pretty ugly, isn't it??? :D

soul_assassin;5027107; said:
Spectacular work, the lights do indeed look a lot better than fluorescents.

and the WINNER IS!!!!..... Damn Jose.... this tank is a thing of beauty man.

WOW..... you have really out done yourself. Everything looks incredible man. The result of a carefully planed and well executed creation of a tank.

This build deserves to be in a magazine article......:headbang2

Really inspiring me to get the ball rolling on my new tank.....
Thanks Joey, much appreciated. Can't wait to see what your next masterpiece will be!

All of your hard work shows as this tank is nothing short of spectacular! The write up was very interesting as well, this seriously needs to be added to the articles section. Great job Jose!
Thanks! Maybe one of the mods will deem it worthy to be posted with the big dogs :naughty:

Love to see a video for sure!
Thanks! I'll see what I can do :)

THIS! I want to see that shimmer!
Shimmer with these LEDs is subtle, but very nice. Not as much as shimmer as with the 10w LED floodlamps.

Dude seeing that sick filtration setup makes me want to go get a ton of pvc and totally revamp the filtration on my 210g. Great job
LOL do it! I love working with PVC for some reason ha :screwy:

Superlaz;5027617; said:
Jose, hell of a job! The tank looks great, the aquascaping, stock, filtration, and lighting...all top notch. You've given me a few ideas for my next set-up, quite a few actually so you may be hearing from me soon ;) As will be your light guy. A video is in order you know...
Thanks Laz! Aaron is a great guy, and super helpful!

Coues;5027678; said:
Jose, are you kidding with this? Holy balls man - this is super over the top, complete next level work. Water changes by remote control while chillin on your couch? REally?? It's like you're on the Jestson's or something bro. Tank came out amazing, we all knew it would. The tax man kicked me square in the nuts this year so my build is on hold, but once I get back on my feet get ready for some questions on the Beananimal and the DIY lighting. HUGE congrats on that build man, it's truly stunning.
Ha thanks for the kind words. Can't wait to see that monster of yours up and running!

That is looking incredible, Jose. I love your drain setup, the dimensions, the lighting - it's all just about perfect.

By the way, for someone that "hates" woodworking, you do a dang nice job.

Your builds continue to inspire me.
Thanks Dan, glad you find my projects inspiring!

HULON;5028159; said:

I can tell everyone though that the day I was over @ Jose's that this tank scaped with no lights or water was a sight to see . As many of us are probably thinking, it was well worth the wait !!! Great work as ALWAYS brotha and now on to stocking that badboy to the max ;).

Thanks Sean, glad you like it! I can't imagine the background taking up anything really. It's only about 1/2" thick. I have a few interested in my rimless tank, so let's see if I can sell it this weekend!
