Exactly. That is the first thing I thought when I saw that. Definitely cruel and not cool, especially since the tail is a pretty important, functioning organ... but the fact is, we dock ears and tails on many breeds and people wouldn't think twice.woofy;2566467; said:that is just horrible...
but part of me has to say this and maybe im crazy but....
how many of u own boxers, dobermans, pitbullls, great danes ect. no matter if they do put the dogs under for the procedure , its still very painful and in the end arent those dogs cropped tails and ears just fr the appealing look? hasnt the akc formed stadard for tons a breeds where this is a must? not just this but other diformaties? im just wondering isnt this the same thing as some people wanting their fish without tails or dyed? many breeds have health problems and shortened life spans becuase of their diformaties that are a must for the breed standard. ridgebacks actuall have the ridgeback becuase of deformed spines.
im just saying the tail cutting is horrible for the blodd parrots but if u think about why would the general public think its that horribl and not buy them if there a dozens of dog breeds than most of us own that have cut tails and ears just for a look. u think "diy docked ears and tails" kits for dogs wont be flying of the shelves?
its sad yes, but what can u expect?fish are always and will always be treated this way.
And the comment about China not caring about people, etc. Well, look at your country too. Destroying the environment and having a high rate of poverty so that the elite can get richer isn't exactly a great philosophy either. All countries are messed up... torturing an animal for scientific gain, aesthetics, medical breakthroughs, food, etc. Is there much difference? Does the animal get to suffer philosophically, knowing that the pain and death is helping others? Nope.
