Thoughts on buying fish from Petco and Petsmart?

I mean mine came from petco im Sorry guys its the only place i got if i had a better choice I would have and yes ik I should have waited but I wasn’t thinking when i got them there doing fine tho I only got pics of the oscar because my pleco likes to hide but my sunfish I caught at the lake

Most of my fish are from pet supermarket. My local one is great. Helpful staff. I don’t go for fish advice, but they have nice fish.

I suppose it depends on if you're a casual hobbyist, or more involved.
When I lived in the states, had never bought any fish from either of those stores, for one,
because
I would never want anything that could be in the least considered a hybrid, or mutt, so I will pay to have pure bred species shipped,
unless I know a respected breeder near me.
But to tell you the truth, neither of those store ever carried any of the species I wanted, so it was actually a moot point.

Thats so confusing cause im a fisher and in fishing hybrids are a really rare thing like some hybrids are endangered so catching one is cool like ik my green sunfish is nothing special but he’s still a monster at 12 inches
