My gar is now a feet long and he currently lives in a 4feet*2feet*2feet tank , I am thinking to make a diy pond of 5feet*3/4feet*2feet under my terrace shade, I was thinking of buying an Intex pond but either I was getting a too small one or a too big one , in winter my city's minimum temperature gets between to 3°C -10°C, today it's 7°C...so Any tips for me to create a good pond cause , last time I created a pond I needed it to remove it during October , pond heaters are extremely expensive in my country, so some tips for me ?

4x2x2 would be the bare minimum for life in my opinion. Honestly they rarely exceed 20” in captivity. I had one for 17 years and it was 20”. I kept 3 18-20”ers in a 180g extra tall 4x2x3 and they were more than happy in there for years. Personally id just keep it indoors in ur current tank than risk low temps in something not much larger. They dont move much or need much space to be happy in my experience.
