Awesome stuff - the food bill must be quite impressive. i don't have that many monsters and i lament the food bill sometimes + my cats no longer accept pellets ...<sigh> ... none of my fish accept pellets no more except black aro and silver aros.
sometimes i am thinking about getting rid of everything and keep only asian aros but then i look and them and go - NAH... keep!
paimas are starting to get annoying in the 8' - they are still in the annoying stage where they are jumpy - they disturb tranquility of my tank plus the aquarium side is all sticky and yuky from the splash around aquarium water... sometimes i wish i can just pack them up and send them to you ... but only sometimes lol
haha i understand how u feel about the pimas! they are definitely very jumpy at a younger age. but wenever it annoys u, just think about how awesome they will be in a year or 2! i dont see my hybrid catfish ever getting sick of pellets because they dont know how to eat anything else :s they are very weird. only time will tell!
the problem is finding large enuf cichla that will not get eaten by my cats or gars. i dont have any space to growout peacock bass atm. maybe sumtime in the future
absolutely thats why i use hikari spirulina pellets as a stable for the pacu, hybrids and paroon. any predators wud benefit from pellets. plus hikari pellets have many other vitamins and minerals that meat might not have. best diet is usually a mixture of both meat and pellets but if i had to choose one, id pick pellets! too bad not all fish will eat them

yeah, if my previous paimas were alive they would have been well over 4' by now ... can't wait to move them into catfish tank (and then there is a nail biting waiting to see if RTC will kill them or not) - after that it is smooth sailing
PS: yes, i already added heater into the catfish pond .... though this year the winter is very hot somehow
