Well, good thing I have been reading posts to learn about my new flowerhorn. I noticed he was not eating the last couple of days and after reading this started looking for white poop. Well, we have white stringy poop, my GT looked bloated, and viegas looked fine. I didnt know if I could put epsum salt into the water directly so I put on tablespoon of aquarium salt per 5 ga of water. I soaked food as directed, let food dry and fed fish. My Flowerhorn dose not realy want to eat but pecks at the rocks at the bottom like its eating mircroscopic whatevers. Well, I gave him a 20 min bath in 1 tablespoon of epsum salt per about 2 1/3 cups of water. This moring I checked the tank. My GT had a huge 3: string of poo hanging from it. The first half looked like regular poo and the second half looked clear. My Flower did not wat to eat again but had about a 1/4" of less of stringy white poo hanging. Hes maybe 2" so I dont want to stick anything down its throat. I plan on giving him another bath tonight. Hes a little faded but still swims around normal. I have the temp about 84 degrees. My tank has 6 synspilums, 1 GT, 2 Flowerhorns, and 1 huge royal plec L190 so I am going to keep everybody put and treat the whole tank till I rid my fish of this. This is a new disease I havent delt with yet, think I havent delt with for this matter. Any suggestions or just keep doing what Im doing. I red about metro and some other meds on this post but have learned in the past that salt and time normally takes care of just about all the illnesses I have ecountered in the last 20 years of my hobby. I did notice when putting the the quarium salt my fish looked like they colored up almost instantly.
