I now use NLS Hex-Shield pellets on all new fish, or potentially sick fish, that are still eating. Good stuff, works every time.

Day 2 of treatment, fish is eating more and the white poop has decreased significantly, mostly normal looking

A recent fh I got I believe has hex hasn't ate in a week and poops clear chunks everyday. I tried regular aquarium salt to see if it was just stress from shipping but he hasn't gotten better. Today I injected him with epsom salt mixture like it was described in the first page. My concern now is I use a python on my tanks for water changes do I have to worry about it spreading to other fish if I use it for all the tanks and what percautions should I take to avoid spreading it to other tanks. Also should I do anything specific on cleaning filters or does it not affect filters?

Use it in the FH tank last when performing water changes, and allow to dry between use. You can treat the tank water with Metronidazole to kill free swimmers, and any remaining pathogens in the filter media etc.

Question, I can't seem to find metro for sale. Any websites I can find it at? Local places don't carry it.

I don't think the flowerhorn is going to make it he's dwindling away even with epsom salt injections (he won't eat) I did two treatments of tetra parasite gaurd because it had metro. I want to move him to a smaller tank to treat him easier. What do I need to do to the tank he was in to be able to put a different flowerhorn in there and him to not get the hex. My plan is to move him out and change 50 water everyday for a week while putting charcoal in the filters and absorb the medicine for two weeks and clean the filters out with tank water twice one in first week and one in second week after charcoal has been in there for two weeks will that be sufficient?

To be on the safe side you might want to consider using bleach.
