updates..

All 5 are in a 100gal tank with a 20gal side sump. pellets are a 6" cuban, 6" gator and 5" florida gar. also a 7" korean perch.

2 are @ ~10-11" (on shrimp & pellets)
2 are @ ~ 8-9" (both take pellets, one still doesn't take shrimp)
1 is @ ~6" (takes shrimp, not fed on pellets yet)

How often do you feed them? Mine seem to be growing way faster. Measured the first Trop two days ago, and it's 12 inches. The new one is about 6-7 inches.

when this photo was taken, the largest was ~10" and the smallest was ~7"

yes it is. yeah there's a chance that might happen, but currently it's the best i can do. i have already removed the most aggressive of the larger gars though.

had to move the trops over as they were starting to get seriously cramped in the 120 and have killed a number of the other fishes in there. however, the main reason for the move (and a number of other less-than-desirable decisions, fish and otherwise) is that i am supposed to enlist in the army at the start of sept.

best of luck to you man, quite honestly/genuinely.

as for the gars, you would be surprised what can work in a 120g tank...mine is overfiltered, but definitely looks overstocked as i had to put some decent-sized TPGs in there in order to avoid further wrath of the Croc II (again - this was after several months' hiatus at the lab). if the fish that are in danger of being eaten are out of the 120g, you could consider moving the TPGs back.

you know your setups and what you can afford to do (time-wise, etc) better than we do, we can only give suggestions and opinions/comments. just seems like of all the fishes, the CBGs and TPGs are the least replaceable, so take care of what you have and good luck!--
