I would be concerned that the asphalt part of the "asphalt emulsion" would leak oil/asphalt residue into the water, especially since asphalt and latex don't really mix, but form an emulsion of the two different and separate substances.

hmmm, not sure. they do say that it is used in fish ponds, potable water tanks, and that sort of thing. so i cant see it leaching anything. maybe once cured, it is safe?

Just the fact that it's not cleared for potable water would be enough to keep me from trying it on anything I cared about losing.

But I wish you luck. Let us know how it goes.
"Liquid Rubber is a non toxic membrane which has been tested in Australia as
suitable for use in potable drinking water grade. Sydney Water currently use
Liquid Rubber to repair and restore reservoir water tanks. Approval number: AS/NZS 4020:2002"

check out their site, it has ALOT of uses.

Would think any hazzards would be listed in the MSDS

In the msds, it says that if it does get on you, not to remove it right away. and if it is over a burn, it provids a sterile cover for it.

When will you start your plywood tank. Take pic. of your build.
And good luck!!!
Ron
Im starting the tank next week. im still working out a few kinks in my plans, but the wood will be purchased and cut tommorow hopefully. should be completly done within a max of two weeks(mostly to allow full curing)
inside Dimentions will be 72x34x24 = approx 255gals(but that may change). this is my first plywood tank, so im keeping it small and managable for more of a learning experience.
