I currently have a 20H Gallon Tank, my Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate are all 0. I keep my temperature at 77 degrees. I currently have 3 5 Star Generals that are or close to 3 inches. It is kinda hard to tell male or female but I have 2 that are slim and 1 that is chunky. I added my 3rd one yesterday ( a slim one) and since then the chunky one has turned dark green with black fins and 4 of his spots come and go. Does anyone know what that means? He chases both of them and swims sometimes with the new one but the smaller slim one is looking beat up. There isnt too much information on these nice fish on the internet, so I was wondering if anyone here had any advice for me. All im trying to do is form a bonded pair and they will be the only ones in my 20 Gallon.
Thanks,
CrazyLegz

My five star generals have just paired up i removed all the other fish but them. How long will it take for the female to lay her eggs?
Thanks,

IMO, five stars breed as much as convicts. But a 20gal is small for a pair.

5"-6" is about breeding size.

This was my group of breeders.
