Sad day indeed. TUIC was a big part of my journey even though I’ve slowed down in recent years on purchasing fish as I’ve come down to just one tank.
There are a few good vendors but only a couple will go through the trouble of sourcing wild caught fish and hold species from specific locations. I hope the next generation figures out a business model that is practical and works.

This hobby is truly something. MFK and TUIC were the two sites I frequented often. I gave up this hobby when I had kids and when I found mold in my basement walls due to bad ventilation and setup. I wish I can still raise central/south American cichlids and envy/appreciate those who still do.

I've been ordering from Jeff and Kevin for the last 12 years i was looking to buy the WC black nasty pair but had to wait till payday the day after i got paid i went to the website (closed).
A question for you monster cichlid keepers now that COTA and TUIC are closed where are you guys getting Cichlids from?

First time I placed an order from Jeff was in 2004 for 6 istlanum. Placed an order with Kevin Dec 2024 for 6 dovii and 1 red devil. So glad I did. Sucks to be losing another top dog in acquiring the best cichlids we could get our hands on. Farewell
Another friday morning without a site update at TUIC, i know its done but that was part of my life for like 10 yrs- impatiently waiting for a new list.
MFK Marketplace and FB for breeders.. I've found alot of TUIC, COTA and Max Cichlids customers selling fry / growouts on FB. MFK Marketplace is great too, but only prob is most (99%) of the good stock is in Cali.
Re: sajicas, I've purchased from Absolutely Fish in Jersey before and their stock was great. Unfortunately no known provenance and the Jersey tax made prices higher than normal, but I had no complaints.
