Hi guys I have a question. Is it neccessary to turn off the lights of the aquarium at night especially when going to sleep. I have read in other flower horn forums that it is needed coz the fish needed some rest also. But I have observed that every morning when i woke up and turn on the lights, I noticed that the stress marks where visible but the marks fade in easily after a few seconds that the light is turned on. Question is my FH get stressed in the darkness? If it is, is it bad? Should I Have the lights on 24/7?

Yeah,it's very necessary!Fish have a natural sleep pattern just like we do,leaving the lights on non stop would be like the sun always staying out. Also, fish do sleep and they'll always looked stressed and colorless when they wake up and you first turn on the lights...

you should see my missus when i turn on the lights in a morning no stress lines there just pure rage lol

All fish should have 12 hrs light 12 hrs night.. doesn't matter if it's exact just as long as the lights go off! :D

I switch on a green 15W bulb when the main lights are off. That works well for me to watch the bottom dwellers and the fishes get to rest too.
