unofficial fish of the week artwork

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
A little something I did earlier. I ended up ordering a load of materials on line as my old stuff from school, some 30 years old, isn't easy to work with. Unfortunately it won't be here in time for me to enter the bichir artwork competition but once I get the hang of it again hopefully I'll post my work once in a while. Hope you like the pic!

I've never heard of a Hawksbill Turtle until you mentioned it. If I can find a decent reference photo on line, who knows, in a couple of months or so I might surprise you!

At the minute I'm still waiting for some materials to arrive. When I get them, and if I can get the bug back from my youth, I may end up quite prolific. At the moment i'm very rusty, lol.

I was inspired to try by a painting I saw on vacation and tried to draw one. It didn't come out very well.

The unfinished perch picture from post #178 is now at a stage where I'm reasonably happy with it so I'm calling it done, see below. Some of my art media which I ordered has arrived, some more's arriving tomorrow hopefully. I've enjoyed getting back into it, though I'm very rusty at the moment.

Next up, I thought I'd attempt my namesake Esox Lucius, the northern pike.

Another one of my favourite fish, yet I've never kept them. I think there's just something magical about the colour blue in aquarium fish, and the frontosa outshines any other in that respect.

Nice drawings! Have you ever done art classes or school before? I’ve found them to never help, but I was improving by myself.
