Was basically gifted two large uranascopus several months back now. (£50 asking price for the pair from a friend)
To my surprise, as the person who had contacted me about them. Said they was around 16 Inches long, untill I arrived and measured both at 24” and 22”. A added bonus for me, the smaller least bulky fish isn’t the easiest on the eyes. But the big round one is phenomenal. I don’t think there is many catfish out there that will top an adult meglodoras for looks.

Very cool fish. Thanks for sharing!
The title of this thread (Uranoscopus) threw me off initially, before opening and reading it.
Uranoscopus (capital U) is a genus of marine fish of the family Uranoscopidae, the stargazers. Sit-and-wait predators, these fish are not commonly kept in aquaria.
But of course you were actually referring to the Amazonian thorny catfish Megalodoras uranoscopus, family Doradidae (lower case u, such as for a species name).
Again, very cool! Lucky you.

You really lucked out. The star-looking one and the dorky-looking sidekick :)
Only one of ours grew to 2ft or over, over the past 10 years. A dozen are still way behind.

By the way, your school of Mylosoma is just gorgeous!!! Are those full grown? They look like adults but it is hard to tell. They get quite large. Again, very nice tank!
