Picked up another 40b today for the top… pretty sure this is called relapse … Need to pucker up and drill the new top tank, its been more than a few yrs since ive drilled glass . These will both be on autodrip.

… this always happens in winter when i cant go fishing. At the least i figure i can use the mini stack for quarantine of new fish or atleast thats what im telling myself for now lol

Looks like it will be an awesome father son project man! I have found venustus to be one of the best looking haps when they get some size. They seem too have more personality than typical African cichlids. Also I have found myself getting the mts bug during pa winters as well haha.

Thanks for the kind words man … i enjoy that u feel my sentiment on choice for cold weather activities . Not sure why i feel like i need a hoard of venestus all of a sudden but i think it will be fun. Have a few very large tanks with very few fish in them and it gets kinda boring aside from feeding them.

The maintenance gets harder in the summer for sure! I could definitely see that. I bet the constant swimming breeding and begging for food should keep you guys entertained maybe even get you hooked on cichlids haha

Lol… too many years keeping monsters to be a true cichlid enthusiast but they should come in handy as dithers in my other tanks or a healthy snack if i can breed enough.

Bit of progress… rebuild kit came in for my old alita pump so we took care of fixing that and ran some new air lines around the fish room. Still have to drill the tank with my little helper. 50/50 shot of him enjoying it or being scared ..

You'll enjoy the nimbos I think. Theyre one of my favorites, you get males that usually color up at a small size, they get pretty large, and the females have a pretty cool pattern. Not to mention your son's involved, hopefully he sticks with it. My son wanted an aquarium a few different times, each time he was all in for the first week, after that I was stuck with whatever wacky fish he picked out at the time.

Murderdolls after my glam rock days it went to metalcore and deathcore… wee man is already a head banger against my wifes wishes lol
