YMMV, but they needs big tanks. They're very rambunctious fish, they are "athletic", they like to fight and eat. Mine didn't do well in my 125, they were insane in my 75, they're pretty fun in my 540.

I really think Zonatus are just insane in 4 or 6 foot tanks. They need room. And they grow pretty fast, too.

How big are they ?
Mine are so skittish it's unreal, even when I am not in the room I can here them bouncing round the tank

Male is about 8 inch female about 6 inch
What size tank ? These guys need space like ragin said. I had to rehome mine. We moved and didnt have the space for 3 tanks and it was intolerant of other cichlids and he had the least seniority so.....

Sold them yesterday, moved the biffa's into there old tank,, have found some fry in there from the zonts spawn though

Yea, talking to someone the other day who says always grow them out in smallish tanks that way they get used to being close to you, so there going in a 60l to start with, see how it goes
