Wallago Catfish Care

Is he a Leeri or a microgon? Or is it still to small to ID?

Don't think anyone has figured out how to accurately tell micropogon from leeri

Dr. Heok Hee Ng (aka Silurus on Planet Catfish) split them up and actually placed micropogon in a different genus from Wallago, named Wallagonia.

For a layman, it seems mighty hard to tell them apart and the easiest way, IIRC, is by the catch location. Their habitats do not overlap or do not overlap much at all. Again, IIRC.

Read the the 2004 revision by Dr. Ng for more.

But from the standpoint of care, biology, and potential size, etc. there appears to be no tangible difference. So the exact ID might be just of academic value.
