Guys, my head explodes with ideas at times like this...
My wife just asked me, "So now youre gonna drain the tank?"

I see the grey texture and it's sweet on the 75gal.

I hear you on the thin plexi. Water did get in between it and the glass and it was a mess.

Time to break out the old airbrush, get some texture paint and make the mirror in the kids bathroom dissapear...

Actually, it's not light grey, but actually tan. Looks really good.

i was going to use paint but i wanted to set up the tank fast as the fish i ordered was coming soon and the never came. so i just got a couple of pieces black card and selotaped it on the back and a long piece of selotape at the top so if water did go on it ypu wouldnt be able to see. but iam gong to paint my 120. will get pics soon, i also have red line torpedo barbs they are amazing schooling fish i have 5 but soon 10 or 15! how many have you got lonewolf?

I had 8, but had a major accident and lost 7 of them. Being that my 75G is heavily planted, I didn't have any surface aggitation, and one morning, they were dead, and the last one along with other fish were gasping for air. I had several other deaths besides them as well. I learned a big lesson, always have surface aggitation in a heavily planted tank at night. The plants suck up the O2, as well as the fish. And yes, they are an awsome schooling fish. Mine were 6 inches, and the one I still have is a little over 6 inches. I believe he's at his adult size, as he really hasn't been growing at all over the last year or so. I really want more as well. Would like 8 total.

Knew I shouldn't have read this. Guess I won't be getting any of the honeydo list done next day off.

Dude,
I'm heading to the hobby store tomorrow. Besides, the place that carries parts to fix my broken garage door are closed on Sundays. Yessss.

yh i lost a couple of rams and sharks due to that i was gutted what the died for a straight foward reason which could be fixed in seconds. mine are only babys about 2.5inch mine are tank breed and got all 5 for £25 $50 which is a realy good deal as most of the time there £20-30 $40-60each. our lfs has a shoal of about 30 all 6inch they look amazing in a 11ft tank

I personally painted the back of my 65 gallon with black spray paint, and put a vinyl background behind that to avoid from scratching the paint off

all in all it turned out well, but I would have liked the black to look more black in the tank...

I painted a few of my tanks .The light flec stone looks great and is really neutral doesnt distract from the fish.Black makes the tank too dark for smaller dark fish, they dissapear in there.

I just painted a 55 w/ flat black Krylon. took less than 2 cans.
I set tank outside, taped and used trashbags (not opened but flat) to protected what I didn't want paint on. I just stepped out now and then and sprayed it over and over. Till I saw no light through paint.

After dark I shined a flashlight at the tank looking for light leaking.

Looks nice.

Their are many colors of spray paint too.
Much easier than rolling on. IMO

Black works real nice behind light colored fish.
Like my Red devil ........(to bad the pics were blurry :irked:)
