Also I have a question for those who know about nano fish, would this be an ok stocking for my tank?

6 Celestial Pearl Danios, 4 Blue Neon Gobies and 6-10 Blue Shrimp

Or this:

1 Chocolate Gourami, another kind of goby (not certain yet) and 6-10 Shrimp

Is this going to be a breeding tank? Or purely just display? Any fish would and will eat baby shrimp if the shrimps breed. If you want to breed shrimp and keep fish in the same place, maybe let the shrimp get a head start and have some more coverage (plants, hidey holes, etc). Ofc I haven't bred shrimp or kept CPDs so take my word with a grain of salt 😅😅😅

Well darn...I have a sad update yet again. My archerfish growout is dead. RIP Spitfire. Honestly I didn't really plan for this, so I will have to think about my next move.

I want it to be a display tank but I was growing out my archerfish in it. But now that he is dead, I will have to plan how I will carry on. The ghost shrimp I had in the tank were not there for display, there were purely clean up crew, ig I'll either put them in the main tank and see how long they will last or take them to the fish store for some credit and start over.

Hey y'all! Another update:

I've been doing some extensive research on ideas for the 10 gallon. Most of y'all have probably seen my recent poll thread regarding stocking. For the centerpiece, I'm going to go with a black and white (or pure black) betta. Something like this (not my picture):

I like this variety of Betta the best, and while I do like other varieties, this is by far my favorite. As for tankmates, I'm still debating my options, but I'm certain on some. I want to have 1 or 2 Asian Stone Catfish (they remind me of smaller Striped Raphaels). Here is what I'm talking about (also not my picture):

The other possible tankmates I'm thinking about are a few Amano Shrimp, but that is not certain. I'm trying to make my decisions now so I don't repeat my constant back and forth to the fish store pattern like I've done with my main tank, I know its not healthy for the fish, and I want them to have a good home, so that means no more fish trading.

Finally, for the decor and theme: I want to do an Asian theme (if that isn't already obvious). For the decor, I'm thinking primarily rockscapes, maybe one or two pieces of driftwood, but I want primarily rocks. Probably Seriyu stone or some gray stone. I'm going to do live plants in this tank, probably marimo moss balls and maybe a few other plants.

I'm really looking forward to setting up this tank, it will be great. Stay tuned for more!

Love it. I have a black and white betta myself named Panda. I would watch their behavior for a little since, at least ime, he was peaceful until he got comfortable. Also, watch out for jagged edges on stones or any decor since they could potentially hurt themselves or rip their fins (though it looks like you're getting a shorter fin variety so I'm guessing they're less prone to fin damage from decor)

Hey y'all! I took a big step towards the tank's completion this evening. I bought a Black Orchid Betta, the centerpiece of the tank. I will let it settle for a few days and then I will re-scape its home tank. While the betta looks a lot different compared to what I suggested above, it is still what I wanted. I don't know much about betta strains so I didn't know specific variety names, but the betta I have now is very much the betta I wanted. I just hope he lives (he was from PetSmart in a little pitiful excuse for a cup).

After I re-scape I will share some photos.

I know I've been promising photos for a while, so here are some photos.

I really love how the hardscape turned out, its perfect for the betta. There is one thing though that I want to add to the hardscape to make it better....some moss. I want to glue some moss on certain parts of the rocks to add some warmth and interest. Also, I intend to put some more fish/shrimp in with the Betta. I don't know 100% yet, but I'm thinking a few neon blue gobies, Asian stone catfish or shrimp. I also intend to get a new light and filter (HOB).

For now, that is all. See you in the next update.

Another Update:

I'll keep this short and sweet.

Much like my other tank, indecisiveness reigns. As of right now, I have a goby and the Betta together. So far, no aggression. But I'm still making my mind up about what I truly want in there, or even, for that matter, if I want to keep the tank altogether. The reason I say that is because, while the 10-gallon tank's maintenance is straightforward enough, I'm not sure if I really want a second tank to take care of right now.

I was thinking alternatively that I would just get a new multi-shelved stand for the tank that doesn't take up as much visual and literal space. Also, to hide cords and all of that fun stuff, I could put my growing plant collection on the said shelves since I keep all of my fish supplies in my dresser.

Honestly, I'm just jotting down thoughts, I'm not really sure about anything regarding either tank at this point. I'm hoping that I will be able to make my mind up soon.

For now, that is all. See y'all in the next update.

Well, I have an unfortunate situation.

So, my dwarf gourami isn't doing well, and I had to put him in the 10-gallon tank to see if I could get him to heal (which is unlikely, considering Gardener's case). I also had to remove the betta since bettas and gouramis don't mix. On top of that, I have to get rid of the betta because my mom prefers the gourami over the betta, so here I go, throwing away $20. However, I will make light of this and get a fish of comparable value for the main tank. To see what I was thinking, my Final Tank Setup thread has details on that.

So, for now, the 10-gallon has a beat-up Dwarf Gourami and a Goby.
