Wavemakers are circulating pumps. You put them in the aquarium and the move water to create flow. Air pumps oxygenate the water. What's the difference?
What's better?
If a air pump connected to sponger filter or air stone does that create the same oxygen?
It depends on how good the circulation in your tank is. It also depends on which fish you have. Fish like African Cichlids like the current, and Corals need it. Air pumps are always good to have, but if you have good water circulation, you wouldn't need one. Water circulation helps with the oxygen exchange in the water. So you need both?
I believe sponge filters create the same amount of air since the same amount is going through them. The only difference I can see is air stones produce finer bubbles. Sponge filters are better in the sense that they are a filter and an air pump combined.Would a sponge filter be better that a airstone but still add the same amount of oxygen?

It's up to you. You wouldn't need one of everything, but it also depends on how much you want to aerate the water. It also depends on the pump. I'm running an air pump for 300 gallons on my 210 so I don't worry too much about it.So 1 of everything would be best then?
