Which wave maker are you using if you recommend one? If I use a wave maker on my 210 gallon it will have Viejas, catfish etc in it and I want something I don't have to worry about falling off the glass

Thanks

Air stone are mainly used to keep your water oxygenated and a wavemaker/power head is used for current. I’d use both..

I'm wondering if my filter flow would be enough? I have it set high and it agitates the top some. I wish I could have it about an inch or two higher up for more agitation

I use a Sicce Voyager 2, rated at 800 gph on a 6 ft tank, but as you can see by the box label there are much more powerful versions.

But beside the wave maker, I have the returns from my 1500 gph pump in the sump, above the water line to create the same type turbulence, and ayirstone has trouble creating.

There are of course, power heads with venturi ports built in that not only pump water, but also produce bubbles like an air stone.

There are also venturi valves with no moving partsthat can be put on the effluent of returns to create the same action.

Below is one such venturi valve

There are also easy DIY plans on the internet to make your own very inexpensively.

Thanks! I did some messing around with both my tanks today and lifted the out flow tubing so that it does the same thing as the wave maker. It also gives a trickling sound or what sounds like a small stream inside the house. The noise is calming so I'm very happy.

I had to place an object on top of the aquarium where the out going tube is so it could sit higher up. I used an lug nut and some double sided sticky adhesive strip
