We put away 1.5' mullet yesterday - 4 apurensis

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think what you wrote is fair and sensible.

When Jello is comfortable, she reacts to the feeding sounds and smells acutely too, not in the same fashion as the hybrids but in her own way by quickly swimming to where the handout usually occurs and assuming a vertical position, mouth just below the water line. That is my expectation for a comfortable apurensis with a healthy appetite, which hadn't at all been exhibited in the last video above.

Lol, I showed this video to my wife. Near the beginning, when you were rubbing the Jelly's head and even touched your finger to its lips, she was just watching wide-eyed, repeating "Ohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygod!!!" as fast as she could say it. :)

I'm not sure if she was jealous that you weren't bitten, upset that there wasn't more drama, or relieved at the lack of violence. :)

New L. apurensis, ~1ft, from Matthew L.:

New apu attacks bullhead and Louie the SA lungfish under the cover of second night, who have to be moved then. The pbass, injured green terror, and large common pleco are fine and staying.

Apr 2016: the 1ft apurensis was able to hold its own against 2ft to 2.5ft monsters in the 4500 gal for a long while (had to be taken out eventually):
