WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO NOW.

I realise that evolution is a very slow thing in humans, but man, something's definitely speeding up regarding the evolution of the ears.

I can't listen to this stuff these young un's are listening to. I think they hear something completely different to us old types. Lol.

Ok how old am I that this is my most played song this year?

Not my cup of tea, but still way better than all that brash guitar stuff.

I used to like Iron Maiden back in the day, in fact I've still got "Number of the beast" somewhere. But Iron Maiden are lame compared to this more modern stuff, lol.

In my opinion of course, there's an audience for all types of music.

Not through choice but the usual Christmas song spam, currently on is that wizard song for the fifth or sixth time so far today.... I guess you could say I'm learning Spanish with Feliz Navidad also in the mix.

I would half agree, but would add that your generation in particular seems too proud to listen which is the other half of the disconnect.

This is true, im nearly 50 but still try to listen to the new stuff.
Generally I dont like it or it sounds like something i have heard 20 times before before but theres no harm in spending 3 minutes listening to a song you havent heard before. On the rare occasions i do find something i like it is hard to get any of my generation to give it a try for some reason.
One thing i have noticed is i find a new song i like but i get sick of it very quickly, i guess thats an age thing too. Reality is the latest hip hop superstar isnt making music for me or my peers.
Like most people i usually listen to songs that came out when i was in my prime but i do like talking about new music with all my younger nieces and nephews, occasionally they even think i am cool if i know of some supposedly hip new band or DJ and can name a song.
And having a 9 year old daughter means i am up to date with all the latest commercial pop rubbish but even then i hear a rare gem among the trash.

I like Stevie, but when I listen to him I keep hearing Zappa from the 70’s.

“A gypsy mutant industrial vacuum cleaner…”

His band is different & the music is different but it’s all those wah-wah licks.

I love that stuff, but I’ve never had a wah-wah pedal. This must change.

Maybe, but perhaps we just don’t find it interesting.

When metal went to heavy metal it was great. When music becomes an athletic competition it looses me. When it becomes beat-poetry it loses me. Speed metal?
Berrrrooooommmm… there it goes! Please finish quickly!

At heart I am a blues man. Personally, I don’t want to play much else.

Zappa? That’s funny, big fan of Franks, but never thought of his music when listening to SRV.
