what do i feed small spiny eels?

I have a similar situation in one of my tanks, where my tire track eel does not get enough food due to faster swimming tankmates. I use a BBQ skewer and place cut-up tilapia, krill, silversides and nightcrawlers on. I target feed by placing the morsel of food directly in front of the fish. I also use this method with my slow-swimming gar that are housed with fast-swimming tinfoil barbs.

my eels wont eat brine shrimp. i put a flurry of em i bought in a net and released them into the corner my eels where chilling in and they aren't even acknowledging the hundreds of brine shrimp's existence.

so far pellets and brine shrimp have failed to be consumed by my 4-5" eels... all i have left is blood worms and if that doesn't work i'll give them over to the chinese to make candy out of or something >:(

By the way, the use of a BBQ skewer has been a prelude to handfeeding for one of my eels. Once he got comfortable with taking food on a skewer, he eventually learned to take food from my hand.

45-934 Kamehameha Highway Kaneohe, HI 96744
Phone: (808) 247-7297
Pets Discount.
Call them and ask if they have frozen blood worms or krill.
If not theres always Kalihi Pet center (808)841-5234 They have a fridge off to the side with some frozen food, but Kalihi is kinda far away.
Try buying some long reptile feeding tongs (its less scary than your hand)
let some bloodworms defrost in little water. Pinch one end of the worm and wave it in front of the eel. Gotta be patient.
Or let some FW feeder shrimp loose in the tank.

i did that before. and then "Swhooop shwop shwooop shwooooop" they all get sucked into the filter and dissected. where do i buy that reptile feeder from?? and it turns out pets discount doesn't carry that and neither did kalihi... btw they still haven't eaten yet... one of my eels is almost as skinny as a spaggetti noodle and starting to look like its dying... why is it so stupid >_<...

it sounds to me like u dnt wanna get ur hands dirty by diggin for them worms haha. giv it a try...puttin them on a skewer to place them rite by the mouth is a pretty solid idea too
