I have some and haven't even opened the bags yet. I don't want to use anything questionable. I ordered it because I thought red sand might look kind of cool but I'm not sure I like that idea anymore....I assume it's red anyway.
I used it in all of my tanks the small grain and I love it. It gives the natural look of the fish and It makes them stand out. Plus it looks really good with decor like fake plants an ecspecially drift wood
Red flint sand is the best sand ive used thus far and it's not to expensive.
It's mostly brown sand but it looks way nicer, I can say it has a tint of red in it.
Ok...in an hour or two I think I'm going to put that sand in one of my tanks unless you guys have a good reason why I shouldn't. I assume that enough of you have read this by now that if there was a huge red flag it would have already been posted....hopefully.
yea seen a few pics of this sand in anouther form it looks nice...come to think of it both my motoro rays were kept on it in the LFS. looked like they were "dusty" all the time. I do not have any pics but yes it is ray safe.
So far this sand is working out pretty well. It looks good and it's easier to clean than I expected. The ray seems to really like it and it helps him hide from his tankmates...who may or may not be staying in there with him for very long. I need more tank space. That seems to be a fairly common thought for me for the last year or two. Then I get more space....and more fish. Now I need more space again. Another 300-400g would work well. But I also need more power for that. I'm just about maxed out down here for power usage.
I realy like the color, Ive tryed getting some but none of my lps cary it. and if they were to ship it, I dont even want to know how much 200lbs of sand would be to ship it to you. were did you get yours at?
