Do these guys turn blue when older and if so, when?
I doubt it.It looks like some recently developed color strain. This type wasnt available back when I was into Africans.I have never seen it before.

The only other color I have seen was an albino which I have had.The fish should adapt and be fine with one eye.

I thought the O.B.s would be a lot more pricey? And is there any way to tell where your fishes origins lay?

I've seen small ones go for around $12, and much more for larger fish from online dealers. As for the genetics, who knows. I would guess there's o.b. peacock in there somewhere. If someone puts in the time and effort to line breed them you would probably end up with something more compressicep shaped with the o.b. pattern. Mass market fish farm versions wouldn't be so controlled and could have more random colors and shapes.
