I am surprised , pretty soon fire eel will be no more . Death due to injury or stress or a jump outside aquarium.
Longnose will be the next

Reigning champ will be black wolf.

It's a lethal mix unfortunately.

Move the wolf to seperate tank.

Mind you gar will be tempted to bite fire eel anytime it moves.
From your experience when does the gar start biting? So far it hasn't bothered the eel.

Tbh OP should be fine, as long as he continues monitoring. Longnose gar are generally more peaceful gar species (lepisosteidae family) compared to other gar species such as Cuban and alligator (atractosteus family).

I keep my black wolf with tropical, Florida and Cuban gar with no issues. mine is peaceful, although it doesn’t determine ALL black wolves, as it depends on each individual. Some black wolves are aggressive enough to kill all other tankmates. But since OP black wolf is alrdy 10” and generally ok with other tankmates, it should be fine as long as he keeps monitoring. If any aggression shows, separate immediately.

Get gets really curious with eel movement. To top it off body color and shape also a factor. I had a gar and fire eel in the same tank. Gar was almost a feet in length and fire eel was almost 2.5 feet. There were times I was really stressed out because gar was biting and fire eel was jumping and moving really fast. Had to move the gar

I'll keep a close eye on them. So far only the wolf fish has nipped at the eel but that was before I added some more fish
