they look like this

There are more than 40 species of Flathead found in Australia. Most of these are found from southern QLD, south around the southern half of Australia to South West Western Australia.

I know about them as i watch Paul Worsteling & Lee Rainer from the ‘I Fish’ TV show catch them

78 lb. sturgeon and 21 lb. channel cat in winneconne, wi. off the winneconne bridge. 30 ft drop to the surface of the wolf river. dnr was constantly on the bridge so we clipped the line before we were in hot water. clipped it long enough to get a good weigh in.

we used river rigs and flathead minnows during the white bass spawn. same trip a few of my dad's friends took the boat out to lake winneconne and came back with over 500 white bass.
