honestly save yourself the headache and feed a good pellet unless your goal is to develop your own quality fish food and you just want to play around with some ingredients.
If that is your goal, I suggest purchasing spirulina and astaxanthin powder to blend in with whatever protein you choose to go with. Also include kelp/seaweed from a trusted source, preferably organic stuff that doesn't contain excess amounts of heavy metals/chemicals/carcinogens that are often found in wild seaweed. Also include a good vitamin gel, add some garlic cloves, maybe spinach/broccoli, and more whole proteins.
You can get both spirulina and astaxanthin powder from somewhere like Ken's fish food. Personally, I'd combine stuff like whole freeze dried brine shrimp, daphnia, krill, etc with whatever other stuff you are deciding to mix in.
That being said, you don't want to make more than you can use within a couple of weeks, just for the sake of maximizing the nutritional benefits of whatever you decide to make.
