What to feed young Jack Dempsey?

Stick with the Hikari. When the JD is hungry it will eat them.

I have found that JDs will tend to wait for frozen stuff (or live stuff) if they think you will give it to them. The Hikari is some of the best stuff for them.
 
Thanks for the info. I will pick up some shrimp or blood worms next trip to the lfs. How often would you feed him?
 
Just feed them a good selection when they are young. Mine was basically fed only frozen and freeze dried blood worms at the LFS. He rarely eats anything else now.
 
if hes still a baby and likes to be at the bottom i say go with some bloodworms, but dont let him get too used to just that cuz if you spoil them it gets hard to feed him just pellets down the line
