What type/micron media bag for Purigen?

I got the 250 mL "bulk" bottle from DrsFosterSmith, but its hard to call that bulk. I'm using it in 'the bag' inside a Bio3 Emperior 400 clam-shell frame, and the 250 mL only takes up about half a cartridges worth, so I'm not sure how much flow is actually going through it. I'll have to see if the standard Emp400 media cartridge will hold the bag better.

I'll check it tomorrow to see if its discolored already. The label said 250 mL treats 1,000 gallons for 6 months, but I find that hard to believe (especially based on what I've read on MFK regarding how long it lasts before needing recharge).
