Coulee it be possible that he could be a mixture of both a L66 and a L001? because he has both spots as well as some stripes? This is why I asked haha, I've never seen one like this before?

I doubt it, They have different breeding conditions.
The more I look at the picture the more I'm leaning towards L001.
Have you gone through the pictures of a L001 on planetcatfish? Since you have seen him from the side, you will be the best judge.

I would say he is more L001 than anything else, its just around his head and dorsal fin that threw me..
