whats best knife fish?

I've had my clown knife for quite a bit now...
re-sizing to a 75 gallon soon! :)
Either knife fish you go with, your gonna be happy regardless...
 
The knifefish that Kyle is showing is a clown knifefish from Asia and can get up to 3 feet or more in captivity. I have a 6 year old that is two feet long. This would be way too big for your tank. An African knifefish would be more appropriate. They typically get around 8 inches in captivity. They are silver gray with no spots. Black ghostknife can get over a feet but in captivity usually grows to about a foot. For a tank the size of yours that African knife would be the best.

Asian*... i meant :wall: :duh:
 
ABK - manageable size, readily available, and not as sensitive as other species seem to be. and personalities in general that are very desirable. What they lack in coloration they make-up for in personality usually.

Males get to 18", but female tend to stick to around 8", so that would be pushing it. Almost had an 18" male one day, but didn't have the space at the time. :(
