Guys prime will absolutely disrupt the safe start. I dont have the link handy but prime binds ammonia and the bb contained in safestart is in some way mixed with an ammonia solution plus the bb need the ammonia in the tank to survive. The prime or any dechlorinator will basically starve the bb and it'll just be a waste of money.

What size tank again ? Also dont follow the directions on the back of the bottle thsts for maintenance which is b.s 1 large bottle will handle a 75 gal depending on bioload.

Seachems bb is ok with prime but i think its junk safestart works fast and less hasstle imo
10 gal. Should I buy safe start again? I don't have any ceramic media in the tank. I have some new ones. Should I take some from the 55g? I know safe start worked with the other tank. Ammonia has been consistently at 0.15- 0.25 every day. Would it be okay for the polys to stick through the ammonia with the safestart to establish the tank? How many days would I go without WC? Cause I've been doing At this point would it just be better to put them in the 55g?

kno4te kno4te Moke has dots on both her eyes now. All the other dots are gone. But I'm worried cause it's her eyes. Probably caused by the ammonia that won't seem to go away. :( still doing 50% WC . should I continue to treat as ick? Also put some Paraguard in periodically. Don't know if this will help the eye thing. At this point would it be better to pt them in the 55g cause the ammonia and eye problems or still wait it out? Thoughts about safestart?
clm, you can also get some floating plants for your QT to help it cycle.

Water wisteria can literally just be thrown in the water if you can't find legit floating plants (other than duckweed, don't use duckweed - that stuff is tiny, gets everywhere and you'll never get rid of it.)
Can't find any floating plants at LFS. Maybe will order some. Will check to see if maybe my friend has some.
I have always used prime. I do switch between different bacteria though mostly stability or microbacter7 for start ups.
Always heard good things about prime. I've used tetra safe start as J jaws7777 recommended which worked well(once I followed directions of not adding dechlorinator). I have aquavitro(seachem) seed which I think might work well. Idk yet lol.

Can u take a close up photos of Mokes eyes? Didn't know ich attached there.
Yep will do. Kinda looks like cloudy eye on the new spot that appeared on the left eye. Old spot on the right eye looks like an ick spot.

Left eye: distinct white spot in the center of pupil. Rest of eye is clear.
Right eye: pupil kinda cloudy. Slight white spot in middle.

I don't think about ich on eyes, either but I have only had it once many years ago, so I am farrrrrr from an expert on it.

I just googled very quickly and found cloudy eyes as a symptom of ammonia, but I didn't look deep. Maybe research a bit?

I know you've done this a few times, but maybe you should start a thread in the disease section for her. Mention the ich, mention the eye spots and show the last pic of the spot on her tail....

Maybe someone here will say it's just remaining ich, confirm that it might be ammonia related, or whatever.

High dosage of aq salt on polys can also cause the eye to get slightly cloudy.

They're in qt to bide time for the ich to finish right?

Ich on polys seem to go away pretty easily based on older mfk posts. Most don't switch to a qt and it usually goes away on its own, and does not reappear.

Interesting....

What if she just increases the temps in the 55 and moves them over, keeping the temps higher for another couple of weeks? Is that a bad or good idea?

It's a bummer the QT isn't cycled. In the future once your 55 is more established, you'll have filter media to do insta-cycle.

2 cups (32 tbsp) of aq salt in my 190'ish gallon (6x2x26"h) is the threshold to cause my Congicus to get cloudy eyes. It's my most sensitive poly.
Definitly agree with this

So no media in the 10 gal ? Nothing for the bb to colonize on except the decor and glass ?

Only thing in the 55 is the danios ? If so and if it were me i would just move the polys to the 55 ich is easily treatable ammonia in qt is a bigger enemy.

If and when you do move them try to feed very lightly as you will be increasing the bioload....again if it were me i move em and dose the 55 gal with 1 bottle of sadestart just to account for the additional bio load.

Basically did this with the 300 gal and it made all my issues disappear lol
