CAE get more territorial and aggressive as they age/grow and also less good as algae eaters, a bit like most plecs.
dont bank on bristlenose being a good worker. i had one and still had to clean my glass every week so i adopted fast growing plants to out compete for nutrients. the best solution up to now is by far the plants, elodea densa to be exact. they have a dual purpose for my grazing uaru and for algae. he was very lazy.
BN plecs can also be very aggressive. and i dont care what anyone says about it, they can be. my male used to fight my gold saum who had 3" on him and still won, he killed a bulldog plec and was not too shy about telling my super aggressive sev where to go either.

True.

Mag float and Python always work.

i think this person wants to know a FISH that will clean tanks...not scrubbers...

i use a flagtail (prochilodus) in all my tanks...i dont think i ever used my mag-float once because... their is nothing to scrape haha

I've found adding geophagus and corydoras help keep my tanks cleaner by removing excess food, so there isn't as much leftovers to feed algae. That and regular water changes with sand/gravel vacuuming works well for me.

The point given by Chester and Salsa is that you are adding bioload to the tank unnecessarily if the purpose is simply to scrape off the algae. Less feeding and more tank maintenance is very simple.

And more information about SAE's, flying foxes and CAE's can be found here.

he may well be after fish for cleaning a tank but people are just giving all the best options availible. and for glass, scrubbing with a sponge wins hands down even if you have hard working fish like ottos and most BN plecs (i think my BN plec was the exception rather than the rule).

probably just get a magnetic cleaner.

Personally mag cleaners dont work for me. I always want to scrub a little bit harder but i cant. Also whenever I miss a spot i tend to pull it away to jump back to it.

yeah i have a mag cleaner but i cant seem to scrub off the algae at the bottom of the tank and the corners of the tank as well.unless i get a scrub or a brush and put my whole hand into the tank and scrub them off.i was thinking of getting those sailfin plecos,i heard getting the smaller albino ones are more hardworking.those big ass plecos do nothing cept **** in the tank.but im afraid my aro will eat them.lol.

personally, i have yet to find an algae eater or bottom dweller that cleans the tank. i prefer to just scrub the sides and front with an old credit card or washcloth.
