i once had a jaguar cichlid that was absolutely nuts. it fought constantly with a oscar that was twice its size and ended up dying when it bit the head off an eal tail catfish and choked on it!!!:mrsatan:

It pretty much depends, some people may have aros that play with your cat and are almost vegetarian and other unlucky people (like myself) get homosidal guppies but my angel is a right bugger he has bullied a few of my fish to death!!!

The distinction isn't between aggressive fish as many species are aggressive in their own right. The real questiuon is the potential to do damage.

^ In that case I'd probably say piranhas. I think they're the only fish out of those mentioned whose teeth are designed to cut rather than hold. For just aggression though I'd say that aimara that SA has for sale...that thing is a beast.

ATF's teef definitley are for cutting, Snakeheads and Wolffish regularly take chuncks out of fish and bite them in half.

:nilly:

My vote goes to freshwater eel

We have "Man made fishing pond" at Taiwan, we stock carps, A LOT of carps for people to fish

I remember once, someone dropped a freshwater eel in a fishing pond, next day, you start seeing dead carps in the pond, few weeks later, that eel pretty much killed all the carps in there. They had to drain the pond to get the eel out.

mystus wykki is a real nasty catfish, they are very territiorial and kill for fun my 2ft one wouldnt share tis 8x2x3 tank with anything it would just tear other fish to shreds regardless of size.

The asian red tail that used to be mystus nemurus now has a different name is supposed to be more aggressive.

Mbu puffer can be pretty aggressive mine killed a rostratus and a frontosa by biting there heads clean off.
