The cat in the top center of the tank is another one that I have and dont know very much about. I got him from a friend who bought him as a baby and started to eat his tankmates. He seems to be full grown (because he hasn't grown at all in a while). When I got him, he was about 6 inches, and is now about 8-10. He is some kind of upsidedown cat. He is nocturnal and completely black. Someone told me that he is a "chinese upsidedown cat", but I cant find any info on that either. Any info would help. This is another pic of my old setup. sorry about the outdated pics, I will try to get some new ones soon.:D

Thank you. Do you have one? I wish there was more info out there on these guys. Everything that I know about them, I found on the internet(which still isnt much). When I got him, The LFS didnt even know what he was. He was sold as a "south american cat". I just knew that he was too big for the oscar that I had at the time to eat. He has nearly doubled in size since then. He is almost 2 feet now, and is still growing. He is great and I have never regreted picking him up. So, if anyone knows about them, please let me know. :D
Well, not anymore. I had one about 14 yrs ago, he was awesome, no one knew anything about them back then either lol I do know they stop growing at about 30" and don't be surprized if he decides to fast for a few months. They've been known to do that. Mine never did but back then we didn't have the internet to do rersearch... Also mine never ate a live fish, he only ate cichlid sticks. I never even thought to feed him fish fillets like I feed my three cats now....

The TSN on the left (Kong) is 27", the RTC (Frankie)is over 22" and the TSN (Tigger) on the right is also over 22". The channel cat is over 16" and that midas up to the left is 10". Everyone was measured about a month ago... The thre big cats eat fish fillets from my hand. Kong, Frankie and the channel cat were rescues.

Nice, Thanks for the info. They are awesome cats. They dont seem to be too popular, which is a shame. Mine will eat anything. And I mean anything! He used to eat feeders, but I got away from that. He will eat krill, market shrimp, shrimp pellets, cichlid sticks, sinking carnivore pellets, beef heart, cichlid pellets, algae wafers, and sometimes cat(the furry kind) food. All sounds normal, right? Now for the funny part. When I feed the pacus, he fights for their food, too. He eats baby carrots, broccoli, cukes, cauliflower, etc. He makes an oscar look picky!

I like your cats, too. They are huge(and fat, too!). They look very happy and have lots of room to move around. What size tank is that? It looks like what I will need someday.

They're in an 800, 14'x3'x30" tall...... Still not big enough.....
wow... thats cool...when you upgrade, I might be intrested:drool: as long as it isnt too soon. I am already testing the structural integrity of my 2nd floor apartment with my 220 and 55(dont tell my landlord:eek: ). An 800 would definatly be parked on my downstairs neighbor's heads. But, I will need something like that some day. Was it custom made? Expensive? The lfs around here has one that is 10'x3'x3'. The owner told me that it was custom built, and it is the biggest I've ever seen in person(excluding public exibits). Yours sounds sweet!:headbang2

wow. thats great. I have been reading for about 2 and a half hours now. I am on page 85. That is awesome and something I have been thinking about for my own house (when I own one). It seems to be the best way to go. I dont know how you were able to keep stopping and posting pics. Do you think that you would have gotten it done faster or easier if the forum wasnt a factor? Ive got to tell you, from the point of view of someone who has been thinking about a project like this sometime in the future, it is extremely informative.. Nice job!
