What's your favorite?

I have a few favorite cichlids.... my all time was my big midas who passed late 2014...midas are a very outgoing species ...allways out in the open ,aggressive, great eaters and grow large with impressive nuchal humps to name a few of their qualities.. did not disappoint me in any of those areas....

My favorite after 10 years of experiencing CA/SA cichlids are those in the Ampholophus Family because They have the best fun to have personality of ALL cichlids and their unique bully look. Then they lead to Flowerhorns

The cichlid I prefer keeping synspilum is because despite its reputation I find very quiet, the colors are beautiful, it is very responsive to me, and reproduces easily.

Love the pop of colors in the second pic. I don't know anything about them but I'm hoping with this thread I (and others) can find new fish to consider trying in the future. Keep em comin'!
