i'd have to go out on a limb and say that a lot of the wild caught cichlids have a much more aggressive nature than others, going from fending for themselves to being in a big tank basically being fed on a platter lol

Out of the ones I have owned I would say in the following order:
1-Texas, 2-some blue/purple south african about 5 in I gave away, 3-Red Devil, 4-Firemouth, 5-Jack Dempsey, 6-Jewels, 7-Blood Parrot, 8-Jag, 9-Oscar, 10-Green Terror.
Probably looks odd to most...but this is how my aggression scale has worked. My oscar who has been in with all of these at fish at one time or another always is the tank boss...but he is never aggressive. They others just usually avoided him. Perhaps he is aggressive during the night when I dont see it.

have any one tried how aggressive the hornet cichlids i have one before who have killed all his tank mates thats why i move him on a pond. In my experience Hornets ranks first then jags, nadopsis and flowerhorns who have even tried to kill one of my turles.

thanks for all the post i like reading what other peoples top 10 or top what ever cichlids the have in there tank.

1. arrow cichlid by far the meanest fish i've ever had killed my equal sized dovii at around 8"
2. beani
3. dovii
4. umbee
5. Istlantum
6. midas/rd
7. mota
8. jag
9. grammodes
10. chipokae

breeding jewels are sooooooo violent. i have had a proper nasty nip off a 3" male....and I am way bigger than he was! They go top of the list for me!!

Jags for sure! I've got 2 Jags and 2 Piranhas in the same tank and they are lovin' it. Even my smaller Jag puts the Piranhas in their place. Yeah dude.....Tough as Nails!!!
