I like the look of clean black water under controlled conditions. The key word is clean. Clean is clean.....

That water is gross......Yours may be nicer, but my water destroys yours. There is no excuse for ugly water.

anyways, good looking fish. I'd say the quality of the photograph makes the water look off aswell, so work on both.

Suspended substances in water do not necessarily make for unhealthy conditions. And crystal clear water can be toxic. The points being considered in this conversation vary between appearance, preference and health. All things considered, clear water may look best to most of us, but to a newly hatched fish, green water (of appropriate composition) is a life-enhancing buffet of edible organisms. To a mature cichlid, an algae cloud may mean little more than easier breathing and better waste breakdown. To that fish's owner, it may mean dismay and work ahead. Whether clear or green, if it's healthy, the fish don't mind. Now, if it's green because of overfeeding or other issues, that is a problem because it is no longer healthy.

Relax. Enjoy your fish and enjoy your tank, any way you see fit as long as the fish are happy and healthy.

i'm sure if my water was toxic and not jesus drinkable water it would have made him gag a bit don't you think?
