My FX5 pumps massive bubbles... does that count?

LOL no ceewah it doesnt count, but you should prob get that fx5 checked out ;)

i don't use air stones, i just use my spray bar that the pump generates current and while on the surface of the water it creates current. the current that is created on the top surface makes bubbles.. i have done that for a very very long time for my 180 with an eheim 2260 filter.

i bought a air disc once it was blue with black plastic(top fin i think). i didnt like it, it did look nicer then air stone i thought but it would build up air underneath it, then every once in a while it would let out a buurlp as it escaped

i always use spraybars that are above water surface. great way to generate oxygen-mix and personally i think it looks far more natural than air rings/stones.

i agree.. why waste electricity when its given.especially when i see my electric bill.. :grinno:

I use one 12" air stone in my koi pool, and three 1" air stones in my 55g goldie tank and fry tank. After I started using them you could really see the fish start to become more active and start swimming through the bubble streams...they really seem to enjoy it! :)

Use teh largest bubble disks you can find, if there is heavy lighting in the tank you will have to clean them with sandpaper every so often when the bubbles seem to decrease or you will run the risk of damaging the air pump

i have the new air stone from petco .. and i love it .. best thing that whole store has to offer .. and it was cheep ..

but in my ray tank .. even if they said it does not help i would keep it because my rays LOVE swimming in them .. she is doing it right now in fact .... they love to play inthe bubbles so i will always keep them in the tank

i have a 23" bubble wand and mine swins under it over it flaps around and splashes all over when she rides the bubbles to the top.
