why are eclipse tanks so expensive?

lol i just bought a 36 eclipse on CL for 55 bucks... too bad i gave it to my cuz huh? lol

there isn't anything really special about it except the hood contains a strong light and its on filter... its like a hob crammed into a canopy with a dual fluorescent lightset..

not worth much imo... just get a standard tank with the "regular" goodies

They are very popular for small reef tanks because the filtration and lights are built into the tank/hood.

They are expensive because will pay lots of money for them.

I can honestly tell you as an owner of two eclipses, their lighting is inferior (especially if you want to do a planted tank) and they are difficult to work in because of the all in one lid, save your money and buy a tank that you will have an easier time using for your needs. I have a 29g eclipse and I HATE it.

one thing ive learned about fish tanks is they dont hold there value whats so ever. also craigslist is a place to find a steal. that person is looking for way to much.

I had the 29g and I cannot tell you how many times I almost dropped that stupid light/lid combo in the tank. Very aqward. It was great for my sons room because there was not allot of extra "things" for him to want to mess with.

thx all! never intended to buy an eclipse, just wanted to know how it can be so over priced & people pay it!

but what is diff. bet. eclipse & bio cubes? which are also expensive.
