Probably the Poly section
i mean really whats the dif, other then the fact they have no relation whatsoever, and are from seperate continents, or used to be:cry:. but they both breath atmospheric oxygen, both look similar, heck in the wild its hard to tell the dif now in florida:irked:. and from what i hear are both super aggresive. so whats the reason behind keeping a snakehead if you can keep a bowfin? any replies welcome just curious.

Snakeheads get bigger faster, have many different species to choose from, and were much easier to get ahold of than bowfins when they were legal.

ya i guess there are more species and some look better but now the new snakehead is the BOWFIN!!!

imo, i've kept both, bowfins are just really hard to get a hold of.
that's one of the only reasons that snakeheads are more popular. Aside from the fact that there are multiple species of channa to choose from.

One reason: Channa sp. Assam. That is the species I want. It is beautiful, stays small and lives practically forever! Bowfin are amazing, but so limiting!

come to south ga and go fishing in Grand Bay, south of Moody Air Force Base, with chicken liver, wait five seconds and WHAM!!!!! you got yourself a bowfin :headbang2

whoah count me in bro. now what state you in? how long ya think before people are breeding like striped bowfin, super eyespot, and so on. i mean the oscar started the same way, so did most other cool fish.
