I feed my fish twice a day frozen Bloodworms & Krill. Freeze dried bloodworms & baby shrimp and flakes. Why do they always seem like there still hungry are they really?

How does a hungry fish look? LOL! Most aquarium kept fish are fed too much. A healthy fish can go one to two weeks without food without serious problems occurring.

As I have always understood things, fish are opportunistic eaters. Meaning that because they don't know when their next meal is coming they will almost always eat when food is made available. Just because they always seem hungry doesn't mean they are in danger of starving.

What type of fish?

Oscars are always big eaters. I don't even feed once daily and don't normally think that my fish "seem" hungry.

I just started feeding daily to my Cardinal Tetras since a poster wrote how vital frequent feedings were for these types of fish. I was extra lucky I guess that I got a school of them to survive well over a year on every other day feeding. In truth, they do seem "hungryer" now that they are on Daily feedings rater that the 2 day I had been doing.

No science behind this, so take it with a grain of salt, but:

I feel more tired when I sleep for 10 hours than when I sleep for 7 hours. Maybe it is an overfeeding issue that is causing this challenge with your fishes appetite.

On a sidenote I always think obese people look "hungryer" than skinny people. It can also strictly be in the eye of the beholder!

Try owing a aprapima, they seem to live to eat. You don't get much swiming back and forward enjoyment from them. As soon as they see you they think tis dinner time. Peacock bass are notorious for this as well.

he's got the right idea. in the wild you never know when you'll find your next meal so naturally they eat whatever they can whenever they can.

I have Five leopard ctenopoma, Sen Bichir, Brown knife, Angel Fish, Blood parrot , Few larger graumis, Red Eyed puffer, & Three clown loaches. Everytime I walk by the tank they go nuts O lol.
